Long-time strategic partners, Radix BioSolutions and Indoor Biotechnologies have been making significant strides in identifying indoor allergens that cause allergic diseases, including asthma, in millions of people. Now their partnership is also making headlines.
Featured in a recent article in the Wall Street Journal’s Health section, Indoor Biotechnologies’ breakthrough research into dangerous allergens has captured the attention of the scientific and healthcare communities. An essential component of their research is Radix BioSolutions’ ability to customize Luminex xMAP® multiplex assay technology.
Indoor Biotechnologies has been leveraging Radix’s expertise in xMAP technology to develop and deliver custom assays that allow multiple allergens to be tested at the same time, in one sample and in low volumes. This ability has lead the collaboration to secure a major grant from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), as well as accelerating the development of Indoor Biotechnologies’ environmental tests for molds.
Now, the partners are using this advanced xMAP technology to conduct groundbreaking studies that will improve allergy diagnostic products and may one day lead to the development of immunotherapy for individuals suffering from severe allergies that are resistant to medications.
“Partnering with Radix BioSolutions provided the quality, consistency and reproducibility in custom bead conjugation that . . . allowed Indoor Biotechnologies to focus on validating this exciting new technology and getting it to market,” explains Indoor Biotechnologies President Martin D. Chapman, PhD. “We have several projects in the pipeline and Radix BioSolutions is a key strategic partner in our product development operations.”
